In 2017 I went to Nepal with a volunteer organization. After several days of manual labor digging and building the final connection of a newly constructed water infrastructure system in a small village near Chitwan National Park, I flew to Thailand for my first ever solo trip. The impact these experiences had on me was profound. It ignited a desire to travel, to learn, and to connect with others around the world.
The major takeaway from my trip to Nepal was centered around the tagline that emerged: choose joy. Perhaps you could say find joy, as there is generally joy to be found if you look for it.
